West Point restaurant owner arrested for drug possession

A West Point restaurant owner was arrested on Friday after he was allegedly found in possession of marijuana and THC laced candies, according to a LaGrange Police Department press release.
Walter Dooley, 51, of Atlanta, was arrested after the LPD learned of possible illegal narcotics at 137 Commerce Avenue. The LPD said Dooley is the owner of Perfect Taste Barbecue in West Point.
During the investigation, law enforcement officers located and seized 22 pounds of marijuana. Further investigation revealed that Dooley was also in possession of a large amount of THC laced candies, commonly referred to as “edibles.”
Dooley was charged with violations of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act including trafficking marijuana and possession of a Schedule I narcotic with intent to distribute, according to LPD. He was also charged with obstruction of law enforcement officers.
The case remains an active investigation.
