The owners of the newly opened Georgia Wholesale in Hogansville are now settled in the area and are planning to stick around for a while.
After moving from their rented Newnan location to the former Piggly Wiggly and Family Dollar location on Highway 29 near downtown Hogansville, the owners of the business celebrated the opening with an official ribbon cutting, concreting them as members of the Hogansville community.
Several members of the community, including Councilwoman Toni Striblin and Mayor Bill Stankiewicz, attended the celebration to welcome the family.
“We’re sure glad to have you here to fill in this space right in our downtown and we’re looking forward to a long, successful stay for you all in Hogansville,” Stankiewicz said.
Georgia Wholesale opened in June as a “soft opening,” owner Cindi Harris Taylor said. So far, the business has received a mix of new customers and returning ones from the Newnan location.
At roughly 26,000 square feet, the space Georgia Wholesale occupies is actually larger than the 16,000 square foot one the owners occupied in Newnan, Taylor said.
“[The new space] is big, bright and clean,” Taylor said. “We’re glad to be here, and we can’t wait to serve the community.”
On the front wall lies a giant Piggly Wiggly head, a testament to the building’s history which Taylor insisted not be painted over.
Georgia Wholesale sells a variety of items for a fraction of the cost at other stores, Taylor said.
The store sells bulk household items like kitchen and bathroom sinks, bathtubs, counters, dining and patio sets, floor tiling, ceiling fans and bedding. Within the next few months, Georgia Wholesale will open a plant nursery in a smaller portion of their space and include more outdoor items such as rocks.
Georgia Warehouse is currently open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day except Sunday and Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
