Mr. Nathaniel Atchison,  resident of Jacksonville, Florida; passed away Wednesday.

He was born November 6, 1953 in the Hillcrest Community of Troup County, Georgia to the late Alton and Rebecca Hayes Atchison, Sr.

He united with the Rocky Mount Baptist Church, was a 1972 graduate of Troup County High School, served in the US Army, and was employed by Emory University Police Department.

Survivors include his children:  Johnathan Atchison and Natasha Atchison; four grandchildren; sisters:  Yvonne Atchison and Minister Rebecca Murphy; brothers:  Johnny (Patricia) Atchison, Bobby Atchison, Alton (Phyllis) Atchison, Jr.; uncle and aunt:  Bobby (Jo) Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home on Monday from 5-7 p.m. The service will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at LDR.
