Ernest Lamar Lee, 76, of LaGrange, Georgia passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021, at his residence.
Ernest was born Nov. 26, 1944, in LaGrange, Georgia, son of the late Nathan “Jack” Peoples Lee and Evelyn Annie Shirey Lee. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from LaGrange College where he was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. Ernest was a member of Concord Baptist Church and retired from West Point Stevens as Controller of the Home Fashion Division. In previous years he worked as Controller of the Retail Store Division. He was very involved with the community, including the Jaycees and was a former Boy Scout Leader. Ernest was an antique car enthusiast and enjoyed running, golf and watching Granger Football. He loved spending time outdoors, on his farm and in his woodshop building Blue Bird houses. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Carla Lee White; sister, Carolyn Lee Alsabrook; brothers, Clarence “Bill” Lee and Ray Lee.
Survivors include his loving wife, Brenda Turner Lee; daughters, Lisa Lee (Brad) Duke and Monica Lee Thornton; grandsons, Dr. Braden L. Duke, Press L. Thornton, Turner M. Duke and Lee T. Thornton; granddaughters, Maurie C. White and Morgan Mills White; son-in-law, Brad White; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, July 29, 2021, at 11:30 a.m. in Meadoway Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Max McCord officiating.
