The LaGrange Fire Department responded to a residential house fire on Mooty Bridge Road Friday night.
The owners of the home were in the residence at the time of the fire, said Deputy Chief Phillip Rice with the LFD, but there were no reported injuries at the scene, Rice said.
LFD was dispatched at 11:01 p.m.
The first arriving units reported heavy fire conditions on arrival.
Fire crews took up defensive positions and extinguished the fire from the outside.
There was extensive fire and water damage to the home and total damage estimates are $100,000, according to a press release from LFD.
As of Monday, the cause of the fire is still under investigation, Rice said.
LFD encourages everyone to keep all interior doors closed when at home or away from home.
Closed doors can prevent the spread of smoke, fire and heat inside a residence.
LFD also encourages homeowners to check fire alarm batteries regularly.
