Mrs. Joyce Laney Skinner, 70, of Franklin passed away July 29, 2021.

Her funeral service will be held Monday August 2, 2021, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Stutts

Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Restlawn Cemetery. The family will accept guests Monday morning from 10 – 11 a.m. prior to the service.

Mrs. Skinner was born October 6, 1950, in Troup County to the late Charlie Reed Laney and Ola Doris Richardson Laney.

She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking for her family. She was especially well known for her red velvet cake and divinity.

Survivors include: one daughter, Joann Tucker; two sons, Matthew Cotton (Elizabeth) and Kenneth Skinner; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Jean Lambert; sisters- in-law, Nell Skinner and Gail Skinner; and a number of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar Skinner; sisters: Judy Mothershed, Nancy Perry, Fayzell Janny, and Mary Turner; and brothers, Harold Laneyand Charlie T. Laney.
