When Hannah Callahan stepped foot on 1105 S. Davis Street in January, the land that was set to be a series of apartments was “nothing but dirt,” she said. Now, the Exchange at 1105 is thriving with six nearly full units with plenty of satisfied tenants.

“Being able to offer nice, affordable housing to the community that we know is just a hometown feeling that we love,” said Callahan, the Exchange’s manager and a LaGrange native.

The Exchange began leasing in April and is already at 80 percent capacity. Right now, it only has 1-bedroom apartments available, Callahan said.

Callahan added that with the complex being located on the outskirts of LaGrange, tenants can enjoy a country, close-knit community atmosphere.

“We have nine buildings, and all of them but one has wooded views, so you don’t really feel like you’re in an apartment community, but in a neighborhood-type feeling,” Callahan said.

With so many full units, the Exchange already has plans to add three additional units in the future.

“If someone came in today and asked if they could move in right away, the answer would be unfortunately no,” Callahan said. “We don’t have anything until our next few buildings [are built], and we only have 20 units left to rent.”

According to the Exchange’s website, 10 one-bedroom units are currently available from $1,125 to $1,150 in Region 1 of the community, and a one-bedroom unit at $1,175 is available in Region 2 of the community.
