Mr. William Harry Sanders, age 89, of Columbus, formerly of LaGrange, passed away on July 31, 2021.

Mr. Sanders was born on Nov. 30, 1931, in Atlanta to the late Ira C. Sanders and Willow Mae Phillips Sanders.

Mr. Sanders proudly served his county in the United States Army. Following his time in the military, he graduated with a bachelors degree in chemistry, later retiring from the H.B. Fuller Company as a chemist. Mr. Sanders was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church on the Square in LaGrange.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dot Moone.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Ashley Sanders; children, Leslie Denice Goddette and Ashley C. Sanders; grandchildren, Haley Goddette (Zack Williams) and Kennedy Burt; great grandchildren, Jace Myles Williams and Ella Rayne Williams; extended family and friends.

Services for Mr. Sanders will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at 2 p.m. at the Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand with Dr. Paul Baxter and Rev. Paul Blair officiating. Family will receive friends on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. until service hour at the funeral home.
