The City of LaGrange Animal Services is currently offering half-price adoptions through Thursday, Sept. 23, and is waiving adoption fees on Saturday, Aug. 21, and Saturday, Sept. 4.

The adoptable animals with the waived fees will be at both the LaGrange animal shelter and Petsense in LaGrange on Saturday, Aug. 21 and Saturday, Sept. 4.

This special includes all animals, according to a press release from the city of LaGrange.

Spurring these specials is an ongoing overcrowding situation within the LaGrange Animal Shelter, said Chris Bussey, LaGrange Animal Services supervisor.

“Our Northern partners are experiencing the same influx of animals as we are,” Bussey said.

“There are no local low-cost spay-neuter clinics in LaGrange. The closest one would be in Newnan or Columbus.”

Bussey said the shelter is always in need of canned cat food, canned puppy food and towels. Donations can be dropped off at the shelter’s location at 1390 Orchard Hill Road in LaGrange.
