Every now and then, you’ll hear someone say that there’s nothing to do in their hometown.
Those statements are said everywhere — no matter what town you go to. No matter how big or small. LaGrange isn’t immune to those types of statements either, though we’d say it couldn’t be more untrue.
Just in the last two weeks a new bicycling event a major film festival have been held in downtown LaGrange.
Sweetland Amphitheatre is rocking almost every weekend right now as it plays catchup after last year. Boyz II Men is coming to LaGrange in a couple of weeks.
The old adage is that the grass is always greener on the other side. Of course, oftentimes when you get to the other side, you realize that the grass wasn’t quite as green as you thought.
Our community has so much going for it right now — a lot that other communities wish they could call an amenity.
Yes, Newnan, Opelika, Columbus — and of course, Atlanta — have some restaurants or stores that we can’t yet visit within Troup County’s borders. But we’d trade much of those for The Thread, West Point Lake, Sweetland Amphitheatre and our beautiful downtown every day.
