Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Dear Editor,

I was recently startled and terribly upset by a phone call from a very dear family member whose husband was in the Emergency Room coughing up blood — they both had covid!

Several months earlier, we had discussed vaccinations — I had laid out the pros and cons as I saw them and stated that I had been vaccinated. She and her husband continued to think about it.

I am writing to urge all eligible people to get vaccinated without further delay!  Of course, there are risks, but they are very small and far less than the large risks with the disease.  The largest risk we live with in America today is that of being in an automobile accident.

We understand and live with that risk – we don’t refuse to get in a car — regardless of how old we are.
