The LaGrange Police Department is now accepting applications for citizens to participate in its Citizens Police Academy happening Sept. 14 to Nov. 23.
This class is intended to foster community relations and inform citizens of day-to-day police operations, according to a press release from the LPD.
Some of the topics covered will include constitutional law, patrol operations and criminal investigations. Those who complete the class are expected to have a better understanding of police conduct and legal authority by the end of the 10-week program.
All applications must be complete by Wednesday, Sept. 8. The class will close with 18 applicants.
Application forms can be obtained at the LaGrange Police Department front desk, LPD Facebook page, lagrangega.org or by emailing Sr. Officer Jim Davison at jdavison@lagrangega.org or Lt. Eric Lohr at elohr@lagrangega.org.
Residents can also apply online at http://www.lagrangepd.org/Content/Templates/documents/CPAForms.pdf
The class is free to the public and will last from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. during each session. The classes will take place at the LaGrange Police Department Training Center at 376 Aerotron Parkway.
