Deacon Thomas Edward McFarland passed away Sunday.
He was born October 21, 1964, to the late Thomas and Irene Nelson McFarland in LaGrange, Georgia.
He was a faithful and devoted Deacon at Rising Grove Baptist Church, and employed with the Troup County School System and West Point Pepperell for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Retha Green McFarland; one step-daughter, Lericka Sherrell Dunlap; two step-sons, Jerry Germaine Greene and Ted Demorio Green; eight step-grandchildren; one sister, Eugenia McFarland, all of LaGrange, Georgia; six brothers: John McFarland, South Carolina; Willie McFarland, Eugene (Kenya) McFarland, all of Roanoke, Alabama; Dexter (Martense) McFarland, Clifford (SaBrena) Turner, Carnell (Sonja) Turner, all of LaGrange, Georgia; mother-in-law, Doris Green; sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Carter, Jeraldine Green, Dorothy Dunlap, Angie (Rency) Carrekar, Sara Gates, all of LaGrange, Georgia; and a host of family, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home on Friday from 5-7 p.m. The service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Meadoway Gardens Cemetery.
