Charlie A. Barsh, Sr., 90, of 908 Mason Street departed on Sunday morning at his home.

Mr. Charlie Andrew Barsh, Sr. the son of the late Roy and Roxie Kimble Barsh was born in Randolph County, Alabama.

Charlie graduated from Wedowee High School and later entered the U.S. Army and served as a Corporal.

He retired after 40 years at Callaway Mills (Milliken) and was one of the first African American Supervisors.

Charlie served as a Deacon at the Stephen Mission UMC in Wedowee, Alabama and later joined Ward Chapel CME Church.

He is survived by his devoted wife Julia Ruth Barsh, three sons; Rev. Charlie (Janice) Barsh, Jr. of LaGrange, Prophet Israel (Resa) Barsh of LaGrange, Marshall Bonner of Newnan, Georgia, three daughters; Ruth Barsh of LaGrange, Margaret ( Jonathan) Pringle of Lithonia, and Novellette Collins of Welch, Alabama, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Dr. Dennis Bonner, three sisters and three brothers.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Southview Cemetery with the Rev. Morrissey Whitfield officiating.

Public chapel viewing will be held on Friday from 5-7 p. m. at the funeral home.

The family will receive friends at 908 Mason Street.
