Callaway Middle School was put on lockdown Thursday afternoon after the principal received information from a student that another student might have a gun on school grounds. However, no weapon was found, according to a press release from the Troup County School System.
TCSS said school resource officers and law enforcement helped investigate the claim. Once law enforcement determined there was no threat, the lockdown was lifted.
Dismissal times were delayed at CMS and bus dismissal at Callaway High were delayed, according to TCSS.
Once the lockdown was lifted, the administration at CMS proceeded with normal dismissal protocol.
