LaGrange Animal Services has imposed a two-week moratorium on the intake of any cats and/or kittens in an effort to assist in controlling a highly contagious upper respiratory infection that has spread among the currently held felines.

The Animal Services staff members continue to work closely with a local veterinarian to get the infection under control, according to a City of LaGrange press release.

“We regret any inconvenience this may cause for our community and hope to have the moratorium lifted in two weeks,” the press release said.
