On Saturday, we featured Jaunelle White, the new athletic director at Point University. White is the university’s third AD and the first female in that position.
According to an article written by USA Today, there are currently five female athletic directors out of the 65 athletic directors positions in the Power 5 conferences (SEC, ACC, Big Ten, and PAC-12).
Point University is a growing pillar of our community and to watch them break barriers is something special. White is no stranger to intercollegiate athletics as she grew up as a coach’s daughter.
Her father is a hall of fame track and field athlete and former coach at the University of Kansas.
She also was a volleyball standout at Auburn University and still holds school records from her playing days.
White is excited to be a part of our community and says she enjoys being out around town and people stopping to talk to her.
So, when you see her out and about, don’t be afraid to stop and welcome her to the community.
We want to welcome White and wish her a tremendous amount of success as the new athletic director. Go Skyhawks.
