Troup County will host an American Red Cross blood drive on Friday, Nov.19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Troup County Government Center, located at 100 Ridley Avenue.
The American Red Cross is currently experiencing an emergency blood shortage that is negatively affecting blood product availability across the United States, according to a press release from the county.
According to the Red Cross, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood, and one blood donation can help save the lives of up to three people.
If you are looking for a way to give back to your community, please consider donating blood.
To make an appointment, please visit redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code: TCGC or call 1-800-RED-CROSS.
The County urges the community to sign up for an appointment in advance in order to schedule and regulate the number of people donating at once. Individuals who do not feel well should not attend this blood drive.
