Samuel Riley Pate, 71, of Roanoke passed away Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021, at Twin Fountains in LaGrange, Georgia.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Heard Taylor of Roanoke and one brother, Harold Pate of Hogansville, Georgia.

A Newnan, Georgia native, Mr. Pate was born on July 6, 1950, the son of Roger and Mildred Rainwater Pate.  He worked as an industrial engineer for West Point Stevens in Lanett and lived in LaGrange before moving to Roanoke. 

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Laura Lee Davis.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
