Many city and county businesses will close Monday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
The City of LaGrange will be closed Monday and all garbage and recycling pickup days will be pushed back by one day.
If your regular pickup day is Monday, it will be Tuesday. Regular pickup on Wednesdays will be Thursday and regular pickup on Thursdays will be Friday.
Citizens are reminded to leave trash bins out the night before scheduled pickup or at least by 7 a.m. Please leave bins out until 5:30 p.m. Citizens are also reminded there is a limit of four cubic yards of yard trimming pickup allowed at a time. That is roughly the size of a refrigerator on its side.
This allows for the crews to complete their pickup route on time.
Essential services will remain open on these days, such as the LaGrange Police Department and LaGrange Fire Department.
The LaGrange Memorial Library, Hogansville Public Library and Hawkes Library in West Point will be closed.
The Troup County Government Building and all county convenience centers will not be open for business on Monday but will return to normal business hours on Tuesday.
The City of Hogansville and the City of West Point’s services will be closed Monday as well.
