Murphy scores 27, but Carver beats Troup girls

The Troup County Tigers girls basketball team fell to the Carver Tigers Friday for the second time this season by a score of 79-49. Troup County came into the game riding a four game win streak. Troup County got off to a slow start as they only scored 14 points in the first half. Alexcia Murphy carried the load on offense for Troup County as she scored 27 points. Murphy exploded for 18 points in the third quarter, but it was not enough to overcome the early deficit. Troup County holds a playoff spot as it currently stands but want to finish the season strong with two region games left to go.
Troup County drops to 11-12 overall and 9-5 in the region. Troup County’s next game is Saturday at crosstown rival LaGrange High School.
