The Callaway girls basketball team traveled to Bremen on Tuesday night and came back to Hogansville with a dominant 66-28 victory. Callaway came into the game with the region title already in the bag, but showed no signs of slowing down.
The Cavaliers got rolling early, and Bremen was not able to respond. The Cavaliers built a 20-4 lead after the end of the first quarter.
The Cavaliers defense clamped down on the Blue Devils early, only allowing a measly six points in the first half. Jazmin Thornton scored all 26 of her points in the first three quarters and got some rest in the fourth with the game no longer in the balance. The next highest scorer for the Cavaliers was Camryn Stargell with 10 points.
Callaway improved to 16-4 overall and ends the regular season with a perfect 8-0 record in their region. The Cavaliers tip off the region tournament next week with the schedule to be released later this week.
