The LaGrange Police Department confirmed a Troup County man who is the suspect in a child molestation investigation is in custody after being released from the hospital.

The man, Mark Gorsuch, 31, was arrested Wednesday for child molestation. Gorsuch allegedly attempted suicide following the initial incident and was transported to Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center in critical condition, according to the press release.

In a press release earlier this month, LPD said that officers responded to an undisclosed location within LaGrange city limits in reference to a sexual assault.

Officers made contact with the juvenile victim as well as the parents of the victim.

Officers on the scene determined that a child molestation did occur and Gorsuch left the residence and attempted suicide.

Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact LaGrange Police Department at (706) 883-2603 or Troup County Crime Stoppers at (706) 812-1000.
