Pretty much anytime a new business opens in LaGrange, it’s a good thing.
Earlier this week, we attended the ribbon cutting for Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers, which opened in the previous location of Woody’s Service Center, a longtime business in our area.
We’ve written a lot about Woody’s – a generational business that we, and many others, were really sad to see close. It was the last full service station around.
It was touching that the Woody family was recognized by the Freddy’s management before the store opened this week.
That’s the right way to handle things.
With all that said, we were also excited to finally have Freddy’s open, a business we’ve all been hearing about for some time.
While it’s true that our doctors probably tell us to stay away from fast food, a frozen treat and a burger every now and then won’t hurt you. We’ve seen the lines at Dairy Queen — and been in them plenty of times — so we know there are plenty of fans of frozen treats in LaGrange.
We hope you’ll stop by at some point soon and give Freddy’s a try and welcome the business to LaGrange. Although other areas of our city often get the spotlight — like New Franklin Road, Lafayette Parkway and Vernon Road — Commerce Avenue is one of the busiest streets in LaGrange and continues to grow. The addition of Freddy’s, a company that has locations across almost every state, only adds to that. Welcome to LaGrange Freddy’s. We’ll be stopping by for some frozen custard soon.
