A man was killed in a vehicular accident on Callaway Church Road early Saturday morning.

The LaGrange Police and other emergency workers responded to Callaway Church Road just south of S.L. White Blvd. in reference to a single vehicle collision with the driver, Bobby Ferrell Jr, ejected, per a press release from the LPD.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim, Bobby Ferrell Jr., was travelling north on Callaway Church Road at a high rate of speed when his vehicle left the roadway edge on the north side.

Ferrell then overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle which rotated across the northbound lanes striking a tree in the median, then flipping across the southbound lanes where he was ejected.

Both Ferrell and the vehicle came to rest on the west side of the southbound lanes.

Alcohol and a smell of marijuana was detected during the investigation, per the release.
