Tornadoes, high winds and hail possible in Troup County Tuesday and Wednesday

Strong winds greater than 60 miles per hour, tornadoes and hail are possible in Troup County on Tuesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.
Troup County is included in the enhanced risk area for severe weather, which is three out of five on the National Weather Service’s scale. A large portion of the state — essentially east and south of Troup County — is also included in the enhanced risk, including Columbus, Vidalia, Albany, Savannah and Augusta.
Heavy rain is anticipated with amounts between 1.5 inches and 2.5 inches.
Storms are expected to impact the area from noon until 8 p.m.
Troup County is also in the enhanced area for Wednesday, with the same threats possible.
