The Troup County Board of Commissioners announce Tuesday via press release that former Navy veteran Lisa Lindsey has been promoted to Sergeant in the Troup County Marshal’s Office, effective April 6, 2022.

Prior to her position as Sergeant, Lindsey served in the United States Navy after graduating from Troup County Comprehensive High School in 1988. She has also served as an investigator in the Troup County Sherriff’s Office, a full-time school bus driver in the Troup County School System, and most recently as a Deputy Marshal in the Troup County Marshal’s Office.

Lindsey is certified in the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (POST) Continuing Education Division from Columbus College and is a certified Radar Operator. Her volunteer experience involves several local schools and organizations, including: Callaway High School, Troup High School, Whitesville Road Elementary School, The Special Olympics, and the Boy and Girl Scouts of America.

“I am thankful for the wonderful team we have in the Troup County Marshal’s Office, and am looking forward to the future of the department,” Lindsey said. “I’m proud to be a part of everything we do, and I’m excited to enter my new role as Sergeant.”

As Sergeant, Lindsey will be responsible for: assisting the Chief Marshal in planning, administration, management of resources, and code enforcement programmatic requirements; supervising and evaluating the work of Deputy Marshals, ensuring adherence to department rules, regulations, and policies; patrolling the County to preserve law and order and to serve civil papers; enforcing the county Code of Ordinances; performing and assisting with animal control duties; performing evictions; and assisting other agencies as requested.
