There’s plenty to do this weekend in Troup County, but don’t forget to spend it with mom.

Hills and Dales Estate will host its 15th annual Picnic in the Garden Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Held at the Peacan Grove on the estate, this event includes live musical entertainment, pony rides, balloon twisting and yard games suitable for all ages. Guests can bring their own picnic lunch and enter in the event’s picnic spread contest. Winners will be announced at 12:30 p.m. Admission to the garden is free to anyone who brings a picnic basket and blanket. Reservations are not required.

Downtown Hogansville will be host of a Spring Fling vendor event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This free event features food, crafts and small yard sales.

The Friends of the LaGrange Memorial Library will host is monthly book sale beginning Friday from noon to 5 p.m. and will continue Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A bag of books is $1 a bag. The sale will be held at the library’s temporary location on 525 Park Avenue at the old Unity School.

Spaces are still left for the sixth Valley River Rally. The three-mile paddle will kick off Saturday at 3 p.m. from Hardley Creek Park and end at the Downtown River Park in West Point, where there will be a party featuring local food, beer and live music. The event is a fundraiser for the West Point Lake Floating Classroom scholarship program and the Chattahoochee River Keeper water monitoring efforts and trash clean up.
