All three Troup County School System baseball teams — LaGrange, Callaway and Troup — will be playing in the quarterfinals of the state playoffs next week.

Yes, all three.

The Cavaliers, Tigers and Grangers are all on incredible runs, and they may be making history. It’s unclear if all three teams have ever reached the quarterfinal round of the playoffs in the same year, but we do know if it has happened that it’s been a very long time.

We’ve enjoyed covering the journey all three teams have made this season, and now we’ll cheer them on as we hope to see a couple of state champions from Troup County. (The Grangers and Tigers would actually play each other for the state championship, if they win two more series.)

Next week, LaGrange will play Heritage, Troup County will Benedictine and Callaway will play Vidalia. We can’t wait to see what happens. Let’s go Grangers, Tigers and Cavaliers. We’ll be cheering you on.
