1926 – 2022

Virginia Doris Davis, 96, of LaGrange, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 22, 2022.

Ms. Davis was born May 6, 1926, In Heard County, Georgia, to the late Jesse C. Janney and Pearl Janney of Heard County, Georgia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Orvel Bruce “OB” Davis; son-in-law Kirk Wynne and 8 broters and sisters.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna Davis Wynne and Rhonda Davis (Ron) Jackson; grandchildren, Cody Davis Wynne and Christy Wynne (Dornan) Gresley; great-grandchildren, Virginia Arden, Gaines Davis and Thomas Dornan.

Virginia was a charter member of Dallas-Dodd Presbyterian Church in Lagrange. She was an avid gardener, loved flowers, nature and was an excellent cook but most of all she was a faithful Christian and loved her family and friends dearly. She loved and was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.

Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2022, in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in LaGrange, Georgia. The Gathering of Family and Friends will take place at 10 a.m.. prior to the service on Thursday. A private family burial will take place at Big Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Roanoke, Alabama.

Flowers are accepted but donations can be made in her honor to West Georgia Hospice or the LaGrange Humane Society.
