Callaway cheerleading teams are bonding this week in Panama City Beach, Florida as they take part in the UCA 2022-23 summer camp.

The Cavaliers shipped out of Hogansville on Monday with day one of camp kicking off on Tuesday. Monday was used for a binding day before the first official day consisted of the girls learning new cheers, dance routines and stunting in an indoor practice facility.

Day two began with a beach session followed by classes in the conference center. Then, the team was released on their own for a little bit and the girls had an option of activities. Pool stunts were the biggest hit with quite a few of the cheerleaders taking part while some of them chose to take a few minutes to rest up for the team’s first evaluation. The Cavaliers ended back at the conference center for early practice before their first evaluation.

The first evaluation went well with the team scoring a superior for their great voices, sign work and well-designed routine. The night ended with the girls enjoying some fun on the beach.

Thursday saw the girls get right back to work on their routines and cheers with the Cavaliers taking part in the final judging on Friday.

The weeklong camp is about getting the girls in shape and improving their skills, but it also allows the girls to bond before a long year of cheering together.

“We can’t wait to use these team skills by engaging fans and students through crowd participation activities,” Head Coach Carrie Burger said.
