Alwyn Taylor Wyche, Jr., 75, of LaGrange, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022.

He was born on Oct. 18, 1946, to the late Alwyn Taylor Wyche, Sr. and Lucille Williams Wyche in West Point, Georgia.

He spent his youth on Beechwood Circle and his college years in Athens, Georgia graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Georgia.

]After returning to his hometown in 1984, he spent the next 38 years serving the community through his furniture and newspaper businesses, Beechwood Village and Troup County News. Al always loved the newspaper business and he frequently shared stories of his childhood paper route.

In 2012, he was honored to assume the leadership of Troup County’s most prominent community newspaper. He considered this one of his greatest accomplishments. Outside of work, Al loved the water and he loved his family. He loved swimming, boating, skiing, and wading in a pool. He shared this love with his family through countless days on the lake, at the beach or in the pool.

His survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Kennett Wyche; daughters Catherine Wyche Garner (Federic); Rebecca Wyche Kelly (Joseph); sister, Ellen Wyche Cox (Andrew); grandchildren, Elizabeth Grace Turner, Catherine Cain Turner and Ian Joseph Kelly; nieces and nephews.

The family will have a graveside service on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at the Pinewood Cemetery in West Point, Georgia, beginning at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Tom Peavy officiating.
