Youth shot near West Point St. after leaving party

A juvenile was shot after leaving a party Saturday night, according to a press release from the LaGrange Police Department.

The LPD responded to the intersection of West Point Street and Sirrine Street regarding a person who had been shot.

Officers arrived on scene and located a juvenile that had been shot once. The victim was transported to West Georgia Medical Center for treatment.

The Criminal Investigation Section was notified and continued the investigation. The victim in the case indicated he had been at a party in the area and as he was headed home he was confronted by a guy wearing a mask, according to the press release.

During the confrontation, the victim was shot. His injuries were believed to be non-life-threatening, as noted in the press release.

As of Monday, the identity of the suspect is still unknown.
