The LaGrange volleyball team’s 2022 season preparation is reaching a fever pitch as the Grangers preseason schedule ramps up.
After a “dead week” last week where the team did not get together, the Grangers have been back in the lab starting this week and running throughout July. While this week has been mainly focused on conditioning, the girls will be attending a camp at Auburn University of Montgomery (AUM) on Saturday. New LaGrange head coach Alma Barrientos has established a relationship with AUM after having one of AUM’s volleyball coaches come to a summer camp LaGrange hosted earlier in the summer.
The Grangers will be diving right back into conditioning and practice next week before continuing the course in the last week of July. The last week of July will be slam packed for the team as one or all of the three LaGrange teams – freshman, JV, and varsity – will be practicing in the gym from Monday to Friday. Saturday will see the Grangers take part in a preseason tournament at Central Carrollton where the ladies will get their first real taste of volleyball action under their new head coach.
With the volleyball season right around the corner, LaGrange is getting into form under the stewardship of Barrientos.
