Riley Berry passed away Saturday at Father Purcell Memorial Exceptional Children’s Center in Montgomery, Alabama.

She was born to Akevia Berry and Jamal Atkinson on Jan. 26, 2016; and was affectionately adopted by her maternal grandmother, Michelle Caretaker.

Riley attended school in the Montgomery County, Alabama school system. She had just entered the first grade.

She is survived by her mother, Akevia; her father, Jamal; her grandparents:  including her devoted grandmother, Michelle Caretaker of LaGrange, Georgia.

Andree’ Berry of Columbus, Georgia, Gerveta Bradford of Athens, Georgia; and Larry Cook of Atlanta, Georgia; maternal great grandparents:  Linda Broadnax and Robert Caretaker, Sr.; and an array of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and family at Father Purcell.

The excellent care of Little Miss Riley Berry is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
