You might’ve noticed on Wednesday and Saturday last week that we started publishing a brand new newsletter called Overtime.

The purpose of this sports-focused newsletter is to highlight stories we’ve written on local athletes in our community. During the fall, Wednesdays will be football-preview heavy and Saturdays will be football-recap heavy, but we’re also going to make sure to include volleyball, softball and anything else going on.

This newsletter is something we’re proud of, as like our news-focused email that goes out daily, it’s a chance to focus on our student athletes, who work extremely hard on the field, court and track to compete and win championships.

Right now, we’re still looking for a sponsor to support the work that goes into this newsletter, which goes out to nearly 10,000 email addresses daily.  If you’re a local business and interested, please reach out to jennie.overfelt@lagrangenews.com.

We also have our Athlete of the Week going right now, sponsored by Auto Gallery, support we’re extremely thankful for.

Athlete of the Week gives us a chance to highlight the best performances in our county from the last week, something we plan to do year-round.

We applaud the athletes in our community and those who support them. We hope you’ll keep voting in our weekly Athlete of the Week contest and look for our new sports newsletter.
