On Wednesday, the City of LaGrange Animal Shelter picked up a goat off Lafayette Parkway. According to Animal Services Supervisor Chris Bussey, the shelter received a call from the Rainey used car lot reporting seeing an animal running around the lot.

Bussey said the goat was recently purchased the day before it got out.

“When the shelter posted a picture of the goat on social media, we were able to identify the owner,” Bussey said. “The owner had proof of their purchase of the goat to go along with the picture that was posted.”

According to Bussey, the owner goat lives in LaGrange and wasn’t sure how the goat got out of his fenced in yard.

At the time of publishing, the goat is safe and back with its owner.
