For Theresa Fairchild, the love of photography began when she was just nine years old. Thanks to her parents and their interest in art and photography, she was encouraged to pursue photography and picked up her first camera.

According to her website, Fairchild’s work revolves around natural images and symbols that reflect her dreams and inspirations. Other images of hers use different themes, including diverse uses of lighting, shadows, contrast — all inspired by imagination.

“In my photographs that I’ve taken in the past and present, I always look for something that moved my soul,” Fairchild said. “What I like to purvey and convey in my photography is an emotional reaction but also a tactical reaction.”

Fairchild, who has a career spanning 25 years, started TF Pixels in November 2021. TF Pixels currently operates out of her home.

“It’s been a slow start, but I’ve been busy with re-editing photographs and doing ad campaigns and promotions,” Fairchild said.

Her first business was TFM Productions (2000-2007), where she worked as a commercial photographer in six galleries and was a commercial fine art printer for area artists in Savannah.

According to Fairchild, she was a pioneer in starting digital photography in the 2000s, when many photographers in the Savannah area were only using analog film photography.

She said some of her most impactful moments as a photographer have been doing location photography and commercial aerial photography.

“It was participating in those types of art that stretched my knowledge and made me want to learn more,” Fairchild said.

Fairchild is a member of the American Society of Media Photographers and has had multiple pieces of art published in the Savannah Magazine as a commercial photographer, as well as editorial photographs published in The Savannah Morning News, Coastal Antiques and Art, Tybee Breeze and more.

Her work has also been featured in promotional photographs used in award-winning interior design portfolios, and aerial photography published in The New York Times.
