Mrs. Janice Leigh Weldon Horne, age 68, of LaGrange, passed away on September 22, 2022 after a courageous battle with ALS. Janice was born on August 1, 1954 in Valley, Alabama to the late James Weldon and Mary Ellen Yarbrough Weldon.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Sara Ellen Weldon and James Lester “Jimmy” Weldon.  

Survivors include her husband, Ron Horne; her children, David James Whaley (Whitney Dollar) and Elizabeth Horne Miree (Chris); daughter-in-law, Kim Hoff Whaley; brother, Nim Jerome Weldon (Cindy); grandchildren, Christian James Whaley, Madelyn Grace Whaley, Grayson Andrew Whaley, Lucille Leigh Miree and Cooper Estes Miree; extended family.   Services for Mrs. Horne will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at 5:00 pm at the Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand Chapel with Rev. Durwood Perry officiating.  Family will receive friends on Sunday beginning at 4:00 pm at the funeral home.
