Another region game, another win for LaGrange.

The Grangers thrashed Fayette County 19-0 on Tuesday behind the dominant pitching of Harlee Overton. She pitched a no-hitter across three innings with two strikeouts. She also added a hit to her statline as well.

The Grangers are looking for answers at the pitching position after Kaylee Foster went down with a knee injury that will keep her out the rest of the season. It is a big loss as she combined to pitch the vast majority of innings along with Zoe Thompson.

From an offensive standpoint, Carolyne Garcia stole the headlines once again as she hit her third home run in four games when she barreled the ball over the left field wall in the top of the first inning to score the first three runs of the game for the Grangers. She finished the game 2-for-2 with two runs scored and three RBIs.

The steady hand of senior Kaylee Bryant kept the offense flowing as well. She was 4-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored. Shortstop Abby McGill was also outstanding from the plate, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Clary Anne Adcock went 1-for-1 with a run scored and two RBIs. Tatum Nation, McKinsey Gaddy, Kimberly Reynolds and Kaimarie Turner all had a hit apiece for the Grangers.

It was the final regular season game of the year for the Grangers who improved to 18-8 overall and 9-3 in region play. The Grangers will play rivals Troup next Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Whitewater High School with the winner advancing to the region championship and a guaranteed first round home playoff series. The loser will have to travel in the opening round of the AAAA state playoffs.
