Callaway suited up for its final regular season game of the 2022 season on Thursday and came away with a comfortable 13-1 win over Shaw.

Karlie Walker could not be contained as she was a blistering 4-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. She was not alone as the Cavaliers bats were on fire all night long.

After the Raiders jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the second, it was an onslaught of Cavalier offense. It started with a five run answer in the bottom of the second inning. Emma Bryan, fresh off a senior night celebration the night before, got the scoring started with two-RBI double to give the Cavaliers the lead. Bryan was huge for the Callaway offense, going 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs.

A few batters later Walker got her first RBI on the night before Kinley Smith hit a two-RBI triple to give the Cavaliers a 5-1 lead heading into the third inning.

The offense picked up right where it left off in the previous inning by scoring another five runs. Starting pitcher Kaitlyn Williams got the scoring started in the inning with an RBI double. This was followed by Ava Shuford blasting a single to center field to drive in another Callaway run. After going 5-for-5 with a home run in her last game, Shuford was immense again against Shaw. She went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Smith hit an RBI single followed by Savannah Rice hitting an RBI double to round out the offense in the third inning. Smith was a cool customer from the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

The Cavaliers put the finishing touches on their win in the fourth inning when they scored three runs to end the game. Three straight RBI singles by Williams, Shuford and Walker did the damage for Callaway.

Williams was impressive from the plate and on the mound. She 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored offensively, and pitched the entire four innings for the Cavaliers. She allowed only four hits and no earned runs on three strikeouts.

Brianna Patillo has been seeing more playing time as of late and went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Kylah Harris was also 2-for-3 in the game with a run scored.

Callaway finished the regular season with a record of 14-14. The Cavaliers will be heading into the AA state playoffs as a second seed and will be on the road starting next Tuesday.
