It was a tough evening for the Grangers on Friday as they dropped both games of a double header.

The first game of the day was a back-and-forth game that the Granger ultimately lost 6-5 to Bryan County.

The Grangers actually jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Carolyne Garcia hit an RBI double.

The Granger extended their lead in the following inning when Clary Anne Adcock hit an RBI single followed by a single from Kimberly Reynolds to drive in a run.

Bryan County scored two runs in the second before tying the game in the third with two runs. Bryan County then took a 6-3 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The Grangers tried to mount a late rally. Tatiana Dudley scored on an error before Kaylee Bryant hit a sacrifice fly to bring Reynolds home and make it 6-5.

Despite not being able to pull off the rally, Reynolds was immense in the first game. She went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Garcia, Dudley and Adcock all had a hit a piece in the first game.

The second game saw the Grangers fall to Academy of Classical Education 9-4. The Grangers were able to get a late rally going but were unable to get fully back in the game.

The Grangers only got two hits in the first game with Addyson Arnett coming off the bench and going 1-for-1 with a run scored and an RBI in her only plate appearance in the game. Freshman Shelby Siggers got the only other hit in the game for LaGrange. Abby McGill took two walks and scored a run while Reynolds took a walk and scored a run as well. Akilah Hall pinch ran for Siggers and scored the other run in the game for LaGrange.

Zoe Thompson and Harlee Overton split time on the mound.

LaGrange fell to 19-11. The Grangers start their state playoff run on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in a game versus Islands.
