Over the last month or so, downtown LaGrange has become the site of two different films. If a visitor drove around in September or early October, they’d have probably been surprised at how into the Christmas spirit we already were.

In reality, that’s just what the directors of “A Perfect Christmas Pairing” needed in order to produce the best shots, and the businesses downtown and area leaders were more than accommodating of those requests.

After all, “Hollywood” doesn’t come calling our small town all that often. What an opportunity.

A second movie is currently in production as well. We realize Nicely Entertainment isn’t a huge movie studio, but made-for-TV movies can still be very impactful.  

The fact that “A Perfect Christmas Pairing” had its script completely re-written to fit LaGrange should tie it well to Troup County.

What will it mean moving forward? More movies being filmed in town? Maybe a few more visitors, who are fans of the movie and make a stop when nearby?

Who knows.

What we do know is that when opportunity knocked, LaGrange has kicked open the door and been more than welcoming to those in the movie industry. Maybe that’ll mean more opportunities down the road, maybe it won’t. Regardless, we applaud the mindset and what it could mean later on.
