The ladies of the LaGrange flag football team were back on the gridiron Thursday and back in the win column to kick off their 2022 season. The Grangers dominated Jordan 25-0 in Callaway Stadium as the afternoon turned to twilight.
Starting quarterback Corriah Williams led the way for LaGrange by throwing three touchdown passes. The always reliable Sam Cotton came down with the second and third passing touchdowns while Carlee Roland reeled in the opening touchdown of the game to get the Grangers on the board very early in the first half. Ta’Niya Taylor played a big role on offense as well, running in a touchdown.
Coach Jim Reed singled out Taylor, Karley Perry and Demi Russell for their stellar defensive performances. Russell was able to pull down an interception.
LaGrange will be on the road next Tuesday at Manchester to take on the home team and Troup in a doubleheader. The Grangers start the season 1-0.
