In the 2022 Georgia Senate District 29 race, incumbent Republican Randy Robertson defeated opponent Democratic challenger Ellen Wright.
Robertson won the race with 48,315 votes, or 66%, compared to Wright’s 24,604, or 34%, according to numbers from the secretary of state’s office.
Robertson said he is humbled that the citizens of District 29 have chosen to allow him to serve them again.
“I do not take my responsibilities lightly and realize that as the state senator from District 29, my job is to represent every single man, woman and child in District 29 no matter if they’re Republican, Democrat, or Independent,” Robertson said. “I’m going keep doing that the way I’ve done it these past four years.”
Roberson said he wants to continue to make sure there is a strong business environment throughout District 29 and help superintendents get children back on track where they were before the pandemic.
Robertson said he wants to make District 29 a place where small businesses thrive, but also a district that can continue to attract large employers like Remington, Pratt & Whitney and KIA.
Robertson said he wants to help children have the resources they need to be successful.
“We can help by working hand in hand with the school district and the school boards to get back to doing what schools are supposed to do, which is equipping our children to be able to go out to the world, whether it’s off to college or whether it’s to go to work,” Robertson said. “We can help a lot with that from the state, not only with funding but with addressing issues the pandemic has left behind, and we can help them solve.”
Wright could not be reached for comment.
