On Thursday, the Retreat Subdivision officially opened its gates with a ribbon cutting hosted by the LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce.
Kaley Hebert, a realtor for the subdivision, said the Retreat Subdivision has been around for a while but has been very slow in development.
“We finally have some new investors investing and new construction lake homes going up,” Herbert said. “It’s a one-of-a-kind community.”
Herbert said some major features of this division include individual boat docks, wildlife and walking trails.
“Some people like lake living, but they hate keeping maintenance of their docks,” she said. “Here at the subdivision, you have your own gated boat slip, depending on which slot you get, and for a small fee, it’s maintained by the subdivision.”
Herbert said the docks are covered and well-engineered.
Tenants can get the lake life and relaxation without having to worry about maintaining a dock, Herbert said.
Right now, the subdivision has over 20 lots available, with two newly constructed homes also available.
“With the additional lots ready, we have different floor plans,” Herbert said. “So, it’s really a matter of picking your favorite lot and floor plan, and we’ll get it going for you.”
Herbert said there aren’t really new construction lake homes right now in Troup County.
“If you want something new and getting well established — this is the place for you,” Herbert said.
