The Callaway girls basketball team earned a 56-23 win in its season opener against Towers on Tuesday evening. 

The Cavaliers dropped 21 points in the first quarter and never looked back.

Keiyunna Maddox finished with a game high 19 points to lead the charge for the Cavaliers. Lacey Thomas dominated on the block as well and finished the game with 17 points. Neither player had to play in the fourth quarter with the game long over by the final eight minutes.

Aniyah McFarland also scored in double figures (10) to give the Towers defense another concern on the night. 

Callaway starts the season 1-0 overall and 1-0 in region play. The Cavaliers will be back for their home opener on Friday against region foe Redan.
