No matter how you measure success, 30 years is a long time. And for 30 years, Callaway Gardens has held Fantasy in Lights, one of the largest light shows in the Southeast. People come from all around — especially within an hour — to see the show, which includes more than 10 million lights.

Seemingly every year Callaway adds something new to the show, which keeps regular visitors coming back year after year. Not that anything new is needed. It’s become a family tradition for many in our area to visit Callaway after Thanksgiving.

There aren’t many things that are so exciting that you’re willing to go back year after year to see them again.  Fantasy in Lights is one of those rare shows that is worth revisiting, no matter how many times you’ve been.

It’s hard to measure the economic impact of such a huge tourist draw on our area. Callaway estimates more than 250,000 people visit Fantasy in Lights each year.

Who knows how many people stop by Troup County to get gas, eat a meal and then head to Callaway? It’s impossible to know.

But we know at least a few people do each year.

We know many in this area will travel to Callaway, or already have, for the incredible light show.

It’s truly an unbelievable experience, one that’s worth driving 30 minutes or so.

Three decades of success shows that Callaway has figured it out and continues to impress.
