Reminder: Government offices closed on Monday

With New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day falling over the weekend, the holiday has been extended into Monday.  As such, several government agencies have announced holiday closures in observance of the New Year’s holiday.

The City of LaGrange will be closed Monday, Jan. 2. Normal garbage pickup will not run Monday. Pickup will be pushed back one day.

Essential services, such as police and utilities, will remain available.

The Troup County Government Center will also be closed for business on Monday, Jan. 2 in observance of the holiday. The courthouse will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Some Troup County Convenience Centers will be closed for business on Sunday, Jan. 1, but will return to normal operating schedules on Monday, Jan 2.

Only the Loyd-Tatum, Work Camp and Parmer Rd. Landfill location will be open on Monday. The remaining convenience centers will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 3 as regularly scheduled.

Hogansville City Hall will also be closed on Monday, Jan. 2, for the New Year holiday and will reopen the following day.

The City of West Point’s non-essential services offices will also be closed on Monday and return on Tuesday.

The administrative offices of the Troup County Sheriff’s Office will additionally be closed for the holiday on Jan. 2. Deputies will still be available if needed and do not hesitate to call 911 if you have an emergency.
