Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Without Alexcia Murphy in the lineup the Troup Tigers struggled in a 57-50 region loss to North Clayton.

Outside of the fourth quarter that saw the Tigers score 24 points to make the final score a bit more flattering, not much went right for the away team.

One of the only bright spots was Angie Dowdell who scored a team high 19 points in the game. Raygen Godfrey also chipped in with 15 points while Sheniyah Philpot scored 10 to help lead the way for the Tigers.

Troup will need these players to continue to step up when Murphy returns.

The Tigers could only muster 14 first half points as their defense was the reason the game was not a blowout early. Troup trailed 25-14 going into the break despite its inefficient offense.

The second half saw the Tigers offense spark to life, but it was too little too late.

Troup falls to 5-7 overall and starts 0-2 in the region for the first time since the 2015-16 season. The Tigers will get a chance to get their first region win game of the season when they travel to Whitewater on Tuesday.
